We recently had the pleasure of completing a large multi-adaptation conversion for the charitable organisation Teme Wheels. Teme Wheels offer door to door transport for those in need by virtue of isolation, disability or lack of access to alternatives such as pubic transport.

Their Chairman John Driver contacted Carl Birkin (BAS Operations Director) and discussed with him the requirements for theie Vauxhall Vivaro E Life. BAS fitted several adaptations for the charity including a ramp, winch, step, seatbelt & restraint system and four space-saver seats.

John Driver, Chairman of Teme Wheels commented “Teme Wheels collected our Vauxhall E-Vivaro from BAS (NW) Ltd in June following a conversion for wheelchair access.  Since then, it has been deployed on a new rural route to assist with shopping, to various hospitals with patients and to transport folks to and from a nursing home. The conversion to allow wheelchair access has proved to be a great success and we have been able to help people in need who would otherwise have found it very difficult to get around.  The ability to carry up to nine passengers normally or to fold up four seats to allow an occupied wheelchair to be winched in and secured has not only been invaluable, but has enabled us to offer a service where no other is available in our area. We are very pleased with the standard of work carried out to our requirements by BAS (NW) and will certainly be a returning customer as and when we expand our ‘fleet’.”

Carl Birkin, Operations Director at BAS commented “Helping charities such as Teme Wheels is definitely the best part of the job. Here at BAS, we truly love what we do and hearing how much of a difference it has made to their users is just fantastic!”

We were thrilled to be able to help this amazing organisation, which you can find out more about by visiting https://www.temewheels.org.uk/
