The team at BAS had a fantastic time at the Disability Awareness Day on Sunday 16th July. Visitors to this year’s event had over 220 exhibitors to visit including charities, statutory service providers and businesses, a Sports Zone packed with have-a-go event, an Arts Marquee hosting some of the UK’s top disabled artists, a main arena and children’s entertainment.
The DAD is the world’s largest voluntary led pan disability event which promotes a ‘can do’ culture focussing on what disabled people can do, dispelling the myths about what disabled people can’t do!
Thousands of visitors attended the event and how lucky we were that the sun was shining all day :) The atmosphere at the event was fantastic and the whole team were extremely proud to be awarded the ‘Best Business Exhibitor’ award. Speaking about the award, Bill (Owner and Managing Director) commented “What a fantastic bonus to what was already an amazing day!
The DAD is always one of our favourite events of the year and this year was no exception. The atmosphere was great as always and our new addition to the team, Bas the Bear, was a huge success with our younger visitors (and a few of our older visitors). Thank you to Dave and the team for allowing us to be part of such a fantastic event and we are already looking forward to next year.”
