Automatic Tailgate Opener:

ATG2 – VW Caddy
ATG3 – Mercedes Vito/Viano
The ATG is a system designed to allow both automatic and manual operation of the vehicle tailgate. The mechanism has an electronic controller with a number of built in safety features.
Door operation is not limited in any way by the electrical system. If for some unknown reason the vehicle is without power, it is always possible to open and close the door manuallyby operating the door handle in a normal manner.
In powered mode the door is designed to stop immediately if it encounters an obstruction. The door can only be operated electrically when the vehicle is stationary.
